Our Activities:
We meet at the Preston Shire Hall once a month. The actual date being determined by the fourth Wednesday of each month. Starting time is normally at 8.00pm. After a short, formal type of meeting with previous minutes read, relevant correspondence, reports of all interests, we always have a very informative talk by "the speaker of the month". These talks are varied in their content and can provoke lots of interest and questions by their subject. E.G. chrysanthemums in Japan, Yarra Valley Water, Burnley Gardens history, African Violets, "you name it we try to get it''.
At these meetings everyone is invited to bring in whatever they are growing at the moment to 'compete' in a formally judged competition. This is to inspire everyone who grows, to grow even further. Even those who have a couple of little boxes in their lounge room, outside a window or on the patio.
Where else could you get so much fun, knowledge, companionship for a mere $15.00 per year.
